Welcoming Our New Radiologist
Dr Chris Newman
FRANZCR, MBBS, MMed (Radiology), MSurg, BPhty (Hons I)
Chris is a radiologist at Quantum Medical Imaging and at Sunshine Coast University Hospital. He completed his radiology training at Alfred Health in Melbourne, followed by a subspecialty fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging and intervention in Vancouver, Canada.
Chris has a keen interest in musculoskeletal and opportunistic imaging and more broadly the advocacy of men’s health. He is passionate about education, regularly mentoring students, junior doctors, and radiology trainees. In addition, he actively contributes to research, with numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and a book chapter to his name.
Outside of his professional work, Chris values quality time spent with his wife, children, and extended family and friends. He is an avid sports enthusiast, a travel lover, and enjoys immersing himself in new cultures.
In the future, Chris hopes to share his knowledge and expertise with emerging nations, contributing to the global advancement of medical imaging and improving healthcare outcomes where they are needed most.
